The Maserati stand was dominated by the impossibly pretty GranTurismo Sport.
Released in 2007, the original GranTurismo was well-received for its looks, performance, engine and exclusivity.
It was designed to take on the likes of the Porsche 911 and the Jaguar XK-R, and with some updates and tweaks the newest version looks to be an increasingly competitive alternative.
Parkers Pick – GranTurismo Sport
- What is it? The GranTurismo Sport has been updated with a new front bumper and distinctive tail lights. Inside there’s also new seats and a new steering wheel.
- Vital stats and facts: It’s powered by a 4.7-litre, 454bhp V8 petrol engine. It’ll go from 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 185mph. It’s available with two different types of transmission: a ZF six-speed automatic and a six-speed electro actuated gearbox. For sister title Car Magazine’s full story click here.
- Why would you buy it? If you’re after a sports coupe and you’re sick of the usual suspects from Aston Martin and Ferrari, the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is a stunningly stylish alternative.
- Why wouldn’t you? It isn’t going to be cheap to run, cheap to maintain or the fastest car you can get for the money. But you still would, wouldn’t you?
- Prices and launch date: Not clear about price but expect it to be the most expensive GranTurismo yet. It’ll go on sale in 2013.
