Ford Transit Courier (2024-on) dimensions
The latest Ford Transit Courier has grown in size significantly over its predecessor, including a longer wheelbase and a larger cargo area than before.
There is only one size and shape in the van range, though, with no longer version on offer. The rear doors have 180-degreen opening, and the cargo space is competitive with other small vans.
There is also a small load-through function for longer payloads, where the item being carried can be passed through into the interior.

Things are simple when it comes to the Ford Transit Courier's exterior dimensions - there is just the one length and height available so the below statistics will apply whichever version you go for.
Length | 4,337mm |
Width inc. door mirrors | 2,076mm |
Width without door mirrors | 1,800mm |
Height | 1,827mm |
Wheelbase | 2,692mm |
Because of the single body size, things are fairly simple on the inside of the Transit Courier panel van, too. There is, however, a load-through hatch that boosts your overall loading length. This means you can slot longer items in through the bulkhead and under the passenger seat.
A single sliding side door is standard on all but the most basic version - you'll have to rely on the rear doors for that one. A second side door is optional on all bar that Leader trim too.
Ford Transit Courier load area dimensions and capacity
Load length (to bulkhead/with load-through) | 1,802/2,667mm |
Load height | 1,253mm |
Load width | 1,535mm |
Load width between wheelarches | 1,220mm |
Rear door opening height | 1,120mm |
Rear door opening width | 1,235mm |
Standard load volume | 2.9m3 |
The Ford Transit Courier is available with different payload capacities depending on which engine and trim you go for, but there is also an option that boosts the carrying ability. The upcoming E-Transit Courier will have lower payload and towing capabilities, as is the case with most electric vans.
Ford Transit Courier payload
The Transit Courier’s payload ranges from 615kg for the top-trim Active model with the 1.5-litre diesel engine up to 677kg for the basic Leader trim with the 125hp 1.0-litre petrol.
However, you can also get a version with an increased gross vehicle weight, which boosts the payload in turn. This improves the petrols by around 170kg and the diesel by around 165kg, meaning the top possible payload is 849kg, which is much more competitive.
Ford Transit Courier towing capacity
Both of the petrol versions are capable of towing up to 1,000kg, while the diesel is capable of 1,100kg. The E-Transit version due towards the end of 2024 will have a 750kg towing capacity.
