Ford Transit Courier (2024-on) dimensions

The latest Ford Transit Courier has grown significantly in length, width, height and wheelbase over the previous generation, producing a much larger cargo bay.

There is only one size and shape available, though, with no longer version on offer. The rear doors have 180-degree opening, and the cargo space is competitively sized compared to other small vans. There is also an extremely useful load-through hatch for longer loads – they slide in under the passenger seat.

Capacity & size

4.3 out of 5 4.3

Keeping it simple, there's just the one body available on the Ford Transit Courier in a fixed length and height. You can see its dimensions in the table below.

Length 4,337mm
Width inc. door mirrors 2,076mm
Width without door mirrors 1,800mm
Height 1,827mm
Wheelbase 2,692mm

Because of its single body size, there's just the one set of interior dimensions for the Transit Courier, which you can see in the table below. There's also a load-through hatch in the bulkhead that opens up over 600mm of extra load length under the passenger seat.

The rear barn doors open through 180 degrees and a left-side sliding rear door is standard on all except the base Leader model. A second, right-side sliding door is optional on all except the Leader, as well.

Payload, weight & towing

4.3 out of 5 4.3

The Ford Transit Courier is available with different payload capacities depending on which engine and trim you go for, but there is also an option that boosts the carrying ability. The upcoming E-Transit Courier will have lower payload and towing capabilities, as is the case with most electric vans.

Ford Transit Courier payload

The Transit Courier’s payload ranges from 615kg for the top-trim Active model with the 1.5-litre diesel engine up to 677kg for the basic Leader trim with the 125hp 1.0-litre petrol.

However, you can also get a version with an increased gross vehicle weight, which boosts the payload in turn. This improves the petrols by around 170kg and the diesel by around 165kg, meaning the top possible payload is 849kg, which is much more competitive.

Ford Transit Courier towing capacity

Both of the petrol versions are capable of towing up to 1,000kg, while the diesel is capable of 1,100kg. The E-Transit version due towards the end of 2024 will have a 750kg towing capacity.
