Nissan Townstar EV dimensions
The Nissan Townstar EV was designed from the offset to have an electric powertrain. That means it has the same amount of space in the back as the petrol model. However, there is a practicality penalty to pay in terms of maximum payload and towing capacity.
Below, we've included all the dimensions for the Nissan Townstar EV van, including its payload, load lengths and towing capability.

There are two lengths of Nissan Townstar EV to choose from, called L1 and L2. The extra length for the longer model is added between the wheels and they have larger side doors that are wide enough to load a Euro pallet through.
Nissan Townstar EV L1 exterior dimensions
- Length: 4,486mm
- Overall width: 2,159mm
- Width without door mirrors: 1,860mm
- Height: 1,813mm
- Wheelbase: 2,716mm
Nissan Townstar EV L2 exterior dimensions
- Length: 4,910mm
- Width: 2,159mm
- Width without door mirrors: 1,860mm
- Height: 1,813mm
- Wheelbase: 3,100mm
The standard wheelbase Nissan Townstar EV's cargo bay has the same amount of space as the diesel model at 3.3 cubic metres. That matches the capacity of the electric vans from the Stellantis group.
The long wheelbase Nissan Townstar offers more space in the rear. It bumps up capacity to 4.3 cubic metres, which is 0.5 cubic metres larger than the Peugeot e-Partner and Citroen e-Berlingo.
Nissan Townstar EV L1 load space dimensions:
- Maximum load length to bulkhead: 1,806mm
- Maximum load height: 1,215mm
- Maximum load width: 1,570mm
- Width between the wheelarches: 1,248mm
- Standard load volume: 3.3 cubic metres
Nissan Townstar EV L2 load space dimensions:
- Maximum load length to bulkhead: 2,230mm
- Maximum load height: 1,215mm
- Maximum load width: 1,570mm
- Width between the wheelarches: 1,248mm
- Standard load volume: 4.3 cubic metres
The Nissan Townstar EV's payload varies depending on the length you opt for. The cheapest L1 model can only carry 600kg, which is 200kg short of the Peugeot e-Partner and Citroen e-Berlingo.
If you need the extra payload capacity, you'll need to step up to the L2 model. It can carry 800kg and up to 4.3 cubic metres of clobber, but it only costs a few hundred pounds more than the short wheelbase version Peugeot e-Partner. That makes it look like a bargain.
Nissan Townstar EV towing capacity
The Nissan Townstar EV has one of the best towing capacities in its class at up to 1,500kg. That's double the capacity of the Stellantis electric vans – and both the short and long wheelbase variants can tow the same weight.
