Renault Kangoo dimensions (2023-on)
The Renault Kangoo is available with a choice of two lengths but only the one height. These are the dimensions and payload details for the petrol and diesel versions – if you want to know what the Renault Kangoo E-Tech is capable of carrying then read our dedicated review.
Because the Kangoo was designed to offer both combustion engines and battery power from the start, all versions in the range offer the same internal and external measurements.
Head to our main review to find out what the Renault Kangoo is like to drive.
There are two lengths available in the Renault Kangoo range, but it is more than just a case of stretching out the body – the two models have different wheelbases.
The medium wheelbase is the shortest available. The longer version 424mm longer overall and has a wheelbase that is 384mm longer.

The one major clever trick that the right-hand-drive Renault Kangoo offers is found in the loading bay. The easy inside rack allows you to stash ladders just under the roof, leaving the lower part of the storage area free for other things.

The Renault Kangoo doesn’t quite have a payload that is the best in class, as it misses out on the 1,000kg mark that the likes of the Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner all offer. However, it is close enough that it makes little difference.
As a real bonus, the longer wheelbase of the LL version means that the bigger of the two vans also offers the higher payload.
Renault Kangoo payload
Renault has yet to provide a detailed version-by-version breakdown of the Kangoo’s models, instead just giving a maximum payload for each length. The ML model offers a maximum payload of 850kg and the LL offers a maximum payload of 987kg.
Renault Kangoo towing capacity
There is little confusion here – every Kangoo can tow a braked trailer weighing up to 1,500kg and an unbraked one weighing 750kg.
