Renault Trafic E-Tech dimensions (2023-on)
The Renault Trafic E-Tech might be a conversion of an existing diesel van, but it has been done sympathetically to the extent that there is no real impact on its dimensions, inside or out.
There is no change to the space in the loading bay, for example, and you also get more choice in terms of the body size than you do with many other electric vans.
There are three versions of Renault Trafic E-Tech panel van, with two lengths and two heights to pick from. This is a rarity in the electric van market, as many have to make do with one, lower height.
The naming structure is relatively straightforward, with an L1H1 being the shortest and lowest, while the L2H2 is the longest and highest.
Renault Trafic variant | L1H1 | L2H1 | L2H2 |
Exterior length (mm) | 5,080 | 5,080 | 5,480 |
Exterior height (mm) | 1,971 | 1,976 | 2,498 |
Exterior width without mirrors (mm) | 1,956 | 1,956 | 1,956 |
Exterior width with mirrors (mm) | 2,283 | 2,283 | 2,283 |
Wheelbase (mm) | 3,098 | 3,498 | 3,498 |
Renault has managed to keep the loading bay in the Trafic E-Tech unchanged from the diesel version, meaning that you get the same interior space in terms of height, width and overall capacity.
Renault Trafic variant | L1H1 | L2H1 | L2H2 |
Maximum load length (mm) | 2,537 | 2,937 | 2,937 |
Maximum load height (mm) | 1,387 | 1,387 | 1,898 |
Maximum load width (mm) | 1,662 | 1,662 | 1,662 |
Width between wheelarches (mm) | 1,268 | 1,268 | 1,268 |
Maximum load volume (cu m) | 5.8 | 6.7 | 8.9 |
Renault is yet to release the full breakdown of payload information for the Trafic E-Tech, but it has confirmed that it will offer a maximum carrying ability of 1,100kg. This, presumably, will be on the shortest and lowest L1H1 version.
It has also said that it will be able to tow, with a maximum braked towing capacity of 750kg, which is not loads but is more than some electric vans are capable of offering.
