Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£5,000
When did you buy the car?
May 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes... the car belonged to my specilist Alfa mechanic. He allowed me to trade in my 147 against it as he had another GTA in development.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
This was my second Alfa. I always wanted a GTA but could not afford one. Then the opertunity came to get one at a good price so I tesxt drove it. After this there is no turning away
What was the dealer like?
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very Exciting! If I haven't driven it for any longer that 48 hours I start getting withdraw symtoms. Lots of fun on the road. The main thing is although its not the fastest car out there you always feel special in an Alfa. Great noise from the engine / exhaust at 4k rpm.
What's it like to park?
A pain in the arse due to vision through the back window.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
These cars do need to be looked after. Since having it I have had to replace a wheel bearing, upper wishbones, front brakes. I change the oil every 6k so that cost me about £150 due to choosing a high grade oil type. If you own a 156 or 147 you will definantely spend money on suspension parts at some stage
What's most practical about your car?
4 doors, good size boot.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I love the heated seats and the bose stereo.
