February 2007

Full service with cam belt changed as part of deal (at 50k), 12 month full AA warranty cover (it's an alfa) and new tyres + other misc bits and bobs. New key fob.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Impulse - Loved driving it, looks great. Not flash, but subtle.
What was the dealer like?
Seemed decent enough
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very pleasing, except in the wet there's little need for 1st gear. Probably too much power for the front wheels.
What's it like to park?
Turning circle of an oil tanker

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing went wrong as such, Had the 60k service 11 months after buying. Needed front discs, rear suspension arms and bushes, front suspension arm, handbrake cables... Basically a lot. Platinum spark plugs for the GTA cost £20 each but are only done every 60k!! You must find a good local Alfa specialist as the dealers really are hopeless. They didn't know anything about the GTA, it seemed they didn't even know it existed.
What's most practical about your car?
4 doors - tho back seats tiny. Decent boot.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Fully loaded so there's a few - the bose sound system is great tho who wants to drown out the sound of the engine.
