  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Comparing with other Alfa Romeos with same size engine, I think it's the pick of the bunch, with its trim level being high and its fuel consumtion low...

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have driven the car for two years now; the only thing apart from servicing I've spent on it is a pair of front tyres and a headlamp bulb.

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Being a keen Alfa owner, I have tested all trim levels in this engine size and the Veloce is the best... the standard suspension on the Lusso and the standard models have nowhere near the same grip...

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

It's a little sluggish below 3500rpm, but given the car's size I'm happy. Get it revving over 3500rpm and you're up there with the big boys...

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

I think this is where the car lets itself down. Pre-2000 models seem to have the brunt of the problems, but it's always an excuse to test out the latest Alfa loan cars...

Say no more. The wheels fill the arches and it's an impresive sight in your rear-view mirror...

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

I love the car and the full adjustable seats suit me, but try it for yourself first as the Lusso might be the one for you if you're not into fast corners...

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

As with most cars of similar spec, it's got the works, but you aint going to stop them smashing your windows... and grabing your radio...

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

    Excellent+++
