  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Being an early model, it may have paid to wait for a year or two!

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Being a V6 it does drink the petrol. Servicing costs not too bad if compared to Audi and BMW!

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

I love throwing my 156 round corners - it doesn't understeer excesively and you always feel in control.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good straight line acceleration, but comes into its own at higher speed acceleration - although 0-60 isn't bad!

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Never broken down or failed to start!

    Image

With the extra bodykit (skirts and high rear spoiler) plus 16" selespeed alloys, makes a few heads turn!

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

    Got to have Momo leather!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

Go to be the best as I've still got it and it's not been stolen! Also fitting a tracker unit is well worth it!

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

    Other

Anti-roll bars and tie rods replaced due to excessive roll and noise - this was my only real complaint. Also that annoying rattle in the dashboard that took Alfa almost a month to pinpoint and the state that it was an inherent problem with the early 156.
