Summary
What does this car say about you?
Depends, hair dresser I suppose. I don't care, I like it and I bought partly for the looks. I tend to get similar reactions to a friend of mine that owned an MX-5 once for comparison.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Everyone likes it, 1 person said it had a fat backside look to it but other than that, no negatives on the outside. The back seats are pointless, if anyone in the front is taller than 5'6" there is no legroom for someone behind, even if you got them enough legroom there is barely enough headroom back there for a child.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Undecided, it's quite useless if you need to fit more than 2 people but if all you care about is 2 people then it's great, large boot and a very comfortable cockpit. Economy is excellent and with a 70 litre fuel tank you can get over 600 miles in motorway cruising.
What are you likely to buy next?
Only just got this one, not thought about the next car yet.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£28,000
When did you buy the car?
December 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Everyone's always blabbing that you aren't a true petrol head until you've owned an Alfa, so now I own one, even if it is a Diesel (quicker than the 2.2 petrol).
What was the dealer like?
Friendly, excellent test drive with a guy they know who is the biggest Alfa fan, he knows everything about every Alfa.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very easy to drive forwards, impossible to reverse as you have no visibility. Hill holder clutch functions make hill starts a breeze. Excellent white backlit dials are really nice at night.
What's it like to park?
As you can't see out the back it's usually best to drive it forwards into spaces, parking sensors come as standard though to make it easier. Unfortunately the doors are really long, this means that when it's opened really wide the opening near the driver is still very tight to get out of, definitely no fatties if parking in a multi-storey car park.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Three things. 1 - A rattle from the light panel near the rear view mirror, fixed by Alfa. 2 - Wipers only work on the "demand wipe" and on the wash phase, Alfa confirmed they're ordering a part to fix that. 3 - Wind noise from the top of the passenger door, almost like the window isn't pushed against the seal right, only get it when doing motorway speeds on windy days though, never happens on drivers side.
What's most practical about your car?
Practical? It's not practical at all except for economy if driving it carefully.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Glass roof, excellent idea and it's blacked out so from the outside it looks really cool.
