Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce 2.0 Turbo Petrol 280hp auto 4d Owner Review

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Alfa Romeo are finally back in the game of making great , desirable cars. The 8 speed ZF gearbox has been beautifully matched to the car.
In its first week it went on an extended Euro trip , frugal petrol consumption was an unexpected joy - London to Mt. St. Michael in Normandy 38 ltrs !! The electric brakes - no hydraulics involved , work flawlessly - they take some getting used to as brake pedal travel is in a rather narrow band , for those old / lucky enough think Citroen DS 21 / 23. The acceleration gets you into license losing territory very quickly , it handles like a dream and begs to be driven through twisties with enthusiasm, The infotainment system is not ( apparently ) up to the best Audi / BMW / Mercedes systems. Having said that I love the way the Alfa engineers have integrated it into the dash - NOT a ruddy great iPad slapped onto the dash - the system works perfectly well , does everything I want - gets me to wierd and wonderful places without the strange detours the Mercedes system sent me on a recent Euro fly/drive trip. The Central armrest cubby swallows an amazing amount of “ stuff “ and has a convenient USB and power point inside - allowing you to drive with a fully charged “ invisible “ phone. If you want a left field alternative to the usual German premium saloons - try a Giulia you will be pleasantly surprised.
