Alfa Romeo Giulietta (2010 - 2020) 2.0 JTDM Veloce 5d Owner Review

In their own words
I bought the Gillette as a replacement for a 156 and shares a drive with a Toyota. Originally I went to buy a 1.4 170BHP model but the 2.0 diesel was cheaper, one year newer, had better service history and lower millage, it also had a tax of £30, so decided the slight loss in performance was worth the sacrifice.
It is a fun sporty car to drive. I mostly drive it in normal mode although it does not tell you what mode your in on the dash, the steering is fine, quite heavy compared to the 156 and Toyota, suspension is better then the other two cars. Apart from the occasional rattle from the dash which starts then stops I have had no problems with it, everything works and people think it is a new car with hardly any signs of wear, although it is also beginning to rust underneath and I need to get this sorted soon.. It is not the most comfortable car especially on longer runs but it is OK. Start stop does not work unless you charge the battery regularly
It is quite uneconomical, I get less then 30 around town and low 40s on a run, disappointing especially as I do not drive it hard.
It could have done with better equipment, after all it is a Veloce, no folding mirrors, no reverse camera or even sensors, the digital display where the clock, millage and so on are displayed .is cluttered and unclear
What I really hate about it is the key fob when I go to start it I find I often open the boot and i do it regularly
