Summary
What does this car say about you?
You want a stylish sporty car that isn't a mini.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They did notice that very bumpy suspension. Liked the styling and performance, interior style and sporty touches.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. The suspension is just too firm. The person who said it fogged up too easy in winter is right. And it doesn't want to demist. Is quite good in snow though.
What are you likely to buy next?
Traded this in for a seat leon. I miss the alfa in lots of ways (mainly the looks and sense of fun) but the seat is a much better allrounder trading a little sportiness for comfort and managing to handle better yet have more space.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£11,995
When did you buy the car?
July 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes. I think so. Nowhere else had mito's cheaper at the time.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Stylish, good economy, affordable warm hatch.
What was the dealer like?
Very professional and helpful. However when servicing/repairing the car they managed to damage it when washing it. And they still phone me up to ask how I'm getting on even though I've sold it and told them several times! So they try and be helpful but don't seem to write down what you tell them! I'd say reasonable and better than Ford one I used before.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
A real mixed bag. In some ways well. It can't corner like a mini but was fun. In dynamic it felt like an over exciting puppy you had to hold back. In normal throttle response too soft. Handled quite well but it would break away and go straight on with no warning if you pushed it particularly in slower corners. Comfort. Oh dear. Ride is the worst of any car I have ever been in with 17inch rims on, and couple with firm seats and in town its bouncy, on the motorway it doesn't settle down. Turned out to be its achillies heal and so bad I traded it in for a far less stylish seat leon. The 16 inch version I test drove was a bit better I think but maybe the roads were just smooth.
What's it like to park?
Not that easy. Its small which helps but like most modern cars its hard to see the ends of the car and thick pillars restrict visability.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Minor niggles really. Exterior door trim was loose, sometimes anti-pollution filter warning would come on if used for too many short trips, but would go off after a run. At one point the car pulled to left but it was the dodgy firestone tyres kwik fit put on after a puncture than turned out to be the cause. When swapped with rears all was fine. Spend the extra for good ones on a sporty car like this.
What's most practical about your car?
It has more boot and passenger space than a mini.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Blue tooth handsfree and USB music system.
