Summary
What does this car say about you?
I thought it would say cool - rebellious for not going for the TT or Z4. I'm not convinced it does.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Everyone admires it and complements how it looks
Would you buy this car again and why?
I wouldn't buy it, am pleased that i took a short lease as i think this has knocked my Alfa obsession somewhat, and it's certainly got the convertible out of my system.
What are you likely to buy next?
Possibly Audi A3 or (dare i say it) the up-coming 149 if it's out in time.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
November 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
It's £329+VAT per month for a 12 month lease
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted a 2 seater convertible and i have previously loved Alfas
What was the dealer like?
Dealt with a lease broker. Service was appalling - no communication and delivery dates came and went without explanation - cam 6 weeks later than expected although i was told from first call the car was in the UK and waiting to be issued.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Average - had a 2.0l 156 selespeed company car a few years back that stuck to the road and was immense fun. This rolls around corners and accelerates sedately. 8.8 seconds 0-60 shouldn't feel slow, but it doesn't excite. Motorway is fine - smooth and road noise isn't excessive. Importantly you do feel cool!
What's it like to park?
Fine, no problems, although rear visibility is pretty poor so the rear parking sensors are handy.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Windows are supposed to open and close as the doors close to avoid excess pressure due to having no door rim, but regularly forget to close themselves. Rattles appearing from the roof mechanism. Car was broken in to after a week - the glass supplier couldn't work out how to fit the replacement glass, then the Alfa approved Fiat dealership couldn't find glass! Mother and Auntie came to stay and couldn't fit their 2 small suitcases in - that was a shame!
What's most practical about your car?
It starts every time and is a head turner. Pretty comfortable for tall people - I'm 6 foot 4 as the main driver and couldn't get in to a Z4 comfortably, and literally can't get in to a MX5.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Key fob in the dashboard with ignition button is cool.
