Alfa Romeo Tonale SUV 1.3 PHEV Tributo 5dr Auto Owner Review

After owning a very bland Lexus nx for 3 years with poor fuel economy and uninspiring drive, I decided to go for something different. I wanted a phev SUV that wasn't the usual grey far eastern copy of a copy. Other than the highly priced Porsches etc the only car that appealed to me was the Alfa Romeo stelvio. On looking at the Alfa website sadly they didn't offer a phev in that model, however the Tonale, a baby stelvio was available.
I took a phev 1.3 turbo model out for a 2 hour test drive and can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable cars I've driven. Perfectly balanced, engaging and a joy to drive in Dynamic mode. The natural mode and electric mode are pleasant too, but the dynamic mode turns the Tonale into an old school hot hatch.
I chose the Tributo trim in red which is comfortable, classy with a superb stereo and has everything one really needs. The car stands well and gets many an admiring glance and comments.
The Tributo trim is the spec to go for, the subtle differences make for a different car.
