Should you buy one?

I can certainly see why you’d want to add a Vanquish to your fleet of cars. Let’s face it, if you can afford one, it’s unlikely to be the only thing in your garage(s). There’s no doubt having a V12 under the bonnet adds to the theatre, with a far more cultured sound than a mere V8.

There’s enough power to take it to beyond 200mph in fairly short order, and yet its an absolute pussycat when you’re driving gently, appreciating the comfortable ride and luxurious interior. However, while the Vanquish appeals on an emotional level, the cheaper DB12 offers two extra seats, just as much comfort and better handling.

What we like

It sounds terrific and is wickedly fast. Comfort impresses and its still possible to have fun in the bends, while the interior feels a cut above the old DBS.

What we don’t like

Throttle response could be sharper, and there’s surprisingly little space behind the rear seats for luggage. It’s also exceedingly thirsty if you enjoy yourself.
