Aston Martin Vantage Coupe (2018-2024) boot space, practicality and safety

- Cramped cabin
- Tricky to park
- Surprisingly useful boot
How much space is there?
Not a huge deal. To be fair the Vantage is a two-seater with no delusional tiny rear seats. Driver and passenger should have no real complaints, with head and leg room good enough for two six footers. The Porsche 911 doesn’t have much more room up front but it ultimately does have rear seats that are good for short journeys.
Boot space and storage
There is a good amount of boot space, 350 litres worth to be precise. It’s enough for a weekend’s worth of luggage and there’s a little bit of space behind the seats too. You can also option to have a branded umbrella Velcro-strapped to the tailgate, so you’ll never need to bring your own.

Storage space inside the cabin is a bit mean, with the door bins, centre console and gearbox only able to accommodate small items, but it’s no worse than any of its rivals.
Is it easy to park?
The Vantage benefits from a relatively small footprint which means it’s not horrendous when it comes to parking. But you need to remember that the turning circle isn’t as useful as a typical small car’s and having 2.4-turns lock-to-lock means low-speed manoeuvres might take that one extra step.
Visibility is also pretty poor in the Vantage. The thick A-pillars on either side of the front windscreen can obscure a lot of the view out, while the large door mirrors are capable of hiding cars altogether – both of which are not ideal when trying to enter roundabouts or weave into traffic.
Rear visibility is also compromised due to the large rear pillars and narrow rear screen, but at least there are front and rear parking sensors as well as a 360 degree camera.
Safety
The Aston Martin Vantage has not been tested by Euro NCAP, but standard safety equipment includes airbags, electronic stability control, traction control and emergency brake assist.
Unfortunately, despite the fitment of LED headlights, the amount of visibility at night is disappointingly low. Optional safety equipment does at least include blind-spot monitoring though.
