Audi 100 Saloon 2.0E SE 4d (1991/H) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A lot of premium car for a not-so premium price.
Costs
Above average servicing and repair costs, but worth every penny. Reasonable fuel consumption.

On the road
Driving
Excellent driver's view; infallible ABS; a sheer delight!
Performance
Good power but not too much.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Drinks a little oil, but at 104,000 miles (with no major faults) I think that's fine.
Image
Sadly, very under-rated, probably because most buyers see them as too expensive. Not true!
Comfort
Very nearly the most comfortable car I've driven. Driver's seat could do with a little more lumbar support. Sometimes too comfortable!

Security and Service
Security
Generally only average. However I have an after-market alarm system and haven't had any attempts made on the car.
Service
A little patronising if you drive an Audi but don't wear a SUIT. They appear to prefer the newer cars to the old ones.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
A little tappet noise from cold.
Other
ALWAYS check the wheel bearings. DIY replacement costs £30-£50 per corner; Audi cost £240-£300 per corner…
