Audi 80 Avant 1.9 TDi 5d (1993/K) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
I purchased for £4000 at 140,000 miles in VGC - now worth £1600 at 215,000 miles.
Costs
Parts aren't as bad as you might think (from non-VAG dealers) and MPG is superb.

On the road
Driving
Considering its weight and scale it's pretty good through the corners, with some understeer. Great for the motorway.
Performance
The 1.9 packs enough grunt to tow comfortably and cruises well above 80mph.

Living with it
Reliability
It's an Audi. I've had very few problems.
Image
A nicer shape than the A4 I think; quite classy as estates go.
Comfort
Very comfortable in the front, less so in the back. Standard stereo fairly poor. Reasonable boot space. All electrics work well.

Security and Service
Security
Fitted own immobiliser. Central locking has opened itself twice.
Service
Non Audi dealer maintained (£55p/h labour!)
