Audi 80 Saloon 2.0 16V 4d (1992/J) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Paid £3k, done 80k miles trouble-free - damn fine.
Costs
Good unless you drive it hard - but you can drive it pretty hard.

On the road
Driving
Roadholding simply amazing. Gearbox a bit wierd - big gap between 2 and 3, but you get used to it.
Performance
It's not a light car, and petrol-engined, so you need to get the revs up to get the benefit - but when you do, the power's there.

Living with it
Reliability
I've had a few old 80s, and they just never stop. If you drive them for long enough, a few bits might fall off, but they will always get you home.
Image
I think the car's more image-conscious than me.
Comfort
Bucket seats (not sure if standard) and a firm ride - it's not a sofa, but you get out fresh after a long journey.

Security and Service
Security
Don't really know.

Engine
Superb.
Other
Exhaust mounting below the boot needed welding back on, probably badly fitted.
