Audi A2 (2000 - 2005) 1.4 Sport 5d Owner Review

The build quality is excellent with the vehicle offering spacious comfort. As others have similarly reported, I have been particularly impressed by its elevated driving position and how the Aluminium space frame design prevents rust. However, there are too many nagging issues: non-heated tiny wing mirrors that obscure visibility, a situation compounded by lack of a back wiper. The ride on the whole is fairly comfortable though with a sports suspension the ride can be bumpy. Finally, this car is not be driven with moderate to high winds when the road holding goes out of the window. I can't really report accurately on how frugal it is though the 1.4 engine is fairly preppy. That said, I spoke to an AA technician who used to work for Audi as a Senior Technician who reported countless issues with the 1.4 engine, basically a POLO engine that AUDI could never get right. This all taken into account the A2 has done enough to persuade me to consider another AUDI but as an A1 that hopefully offers more security in rainy and windy conditions.
