Economy
Value
Expensive, but you really do get what you pay for. Got a great second hand deal, and kept value really well.
Costs
Expensive main dealer service, but they do make you feel special.

On the road
Driving
Good engine for size, comfortable and classy cabin, and handles as well as required - eats miles with minimal fuss.
Performance
Probably not the fastest 1.6 engine around, but that's not what the car is about. Extremely refined, and good on motorways. More than adequate for most people.

Living with it
Reliability
Not the best. Electrical faults galore with engine warning lights (twice), passenger window fault (twice) and alarm malfunction (very annoying).
Image
More sporty than a Merc, less common and brash than a BMW. You just want to show off the key to everyone you meet. After owning the four rings every other manufacture seems downmarket!
Comfort
No better cabin in the business. Great in SE spec with Alcantara seats, climate control and soft leather wheel and gearknob. Red and white dash is fantastic at night. The best there is.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm, deadlocks etc.
Service
Great warranty service and scheduled servicing main dealer. Great courtesy car service, got given a brand new 2.4 A4 on one occasion!
