Audi A3 S3 quattro (225ps) 3d (2001/51) Owner Review

Economy
Value
A little overpriced but you get excellent quality materials and a car that will handle big mileage.
Costs
I average around 27 mpg which is OK. The turbo starts to spin seriously at 2500 rpm, so at 80 mph on the motorway it would consume more fuel that at 70 mph. You don't buy an S3 to drive slow

On the road
Driving
Very stable at high speed, with lots of grip with those fat 225 section tyres. Handling a little wooden, but still enjoyable enough to have serious backroad fun!
Performance
225bhp suggests ample performance, 0-60 in a little over 6 secs. If you want more speed I suggest you buy a Porsche or a TVR!

Living with it
Reliability
It's an Audi isn't it? Nothing has gone wrong yet!
Image
An A3 is desirable, the S3 is even more so but at the same time has fairly understated looks. So the Police will leave you alone.
Comfort
Excellent suportive Recaro leather front seats, passengers in the back will complain of little leg room.

Security and Service
Security
Good Cat 1 system, with 2 flashing L.E.Ds on the top of the doors to warn off unwanted people.
Service
I bought My previous Corrado VR6 from this dealer, and they were OK but not fantasic. I did consider another dealer but distance was the problem.
