Audi A3 Sportback (2004 - 2013) 1.8 TFSI (08) 5d S Tronic Owner Review

We bought this A3 from Carbase and initially were pleased with it. That is until it would not start, Carebase did all they could to rectify the problem but failed, so they took the car to Audi Bristol who found that the fault lay with a water valve that had leaked a minuscule amount but it had contaminated the loom and it was the cause of the engine not starting. The cost of the repair is £3,206.00! I asked why a loom in the engine bay was not sealed against water ingress and if not, was not fit for purpose, and therefore an Audi design fault. they referred me to Audi UK who told me it was not their concern and i should contact Audi in Germany! not sure what to do now, the repair cost is about a third of the cars value, so to me it would be an uneconomic repair for what I consider a manufacturing fault.
