I needed an automatic, the S tronic is for me the best on the market, with umpteen options of control. Although it can be a pain in the @*** when it hesitates selecting first gear before setting off, with a jolt, at a junction. Acceleration is stunning for a 1,4 engine especially when you can blip the gear leaver into 'sport' and instantly put 1500rpm on the engine speed. Another big plus is the £20 annual car tax. Long or shot drives you feel comfortable and stress free whatever the whether or traffic conditions. Overall a nice stylish car that feels good to sit in and drive that doesn't look flashy on the outside.
How reliable do you find the car?
There is sometimes a strange wheezing sound from under the bonnet on starting the engine. I thought it might be the starter pinion sticking, though I was told by Audi that an initial jet of fuel is injected into the combustion chamber to help starting on a cold day. Still not convinced!Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Excellent car to drive, handles very well. The 1.4 150bhp turbo engine (plus ultra light body) is amazing. It has all the power you would ever need for quick, confident, overtaking. Love all the luxury extras that came with the car... Rain sensors aut lights, cruise control. revers sensors, heated seats, MMi etc. never thought I'd need them, now I wouldn't do without them.About their car
