Summary
What does this car say about you?
Probably that I am getting old; my previous car was a 3 litre A5 which was great to drive, but frankly with roads being so busy now it was seldom that the power could be fully used.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Well, it is not as pretty as the A5, but certainly more practical and without one or two of the design faults the A5 had, particularly concerning the frameless front windows, which would freeze up in cold weather, making it impossible to close the doors once they had been opened.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, probably, although the price of audi accessories does make me think about a change next time perhaps.
What are you likely to buy next?
As that is some way in the future and with new models constantly arriving, who knows, but at the moment I am very happy with the A3.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Brilliant. The 185 BHP engine provides plenty of 'go' for a car of this type. The cruise control is also very good, but once having used it, it becomes apparent that the more expensive option of Adaptive Cruise Control would be even better on our crowded roads.
What's it like to park?
Reasonable, but the view rear left is not ideal. The front and rear sensors help but sometimes seem almost too sensitive and sometimes start beeping when parking safely between other cars in a car park, to some extent that car park spaces seem too narrow for modern cars.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Not so far.
What's most practical about your car?
Good fuel consumption, very easy to drive.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The stronic automatic gearbox has to be one of the best available. It drives in a very similar way to how you would drive a manual gearbox. A gear change can even be initiated by small changes in throttle pressure and of course can also be driven in a manual mode using paddles or as a sequential shift using the 'gear stick'.
