Audi A4 Allroad (2009-2015) running costs and reliability
Miles per pound (mpp)
Fuel economy
The engines all return good economy figures – the 2.0 TDI is capable of 44mpg and, with relatively low levels of CO2 output, they all fall into affordable road tax bands. Insurance is as expected for this type of car and scheduled maintenance shouldn’t be significantly more expensive than a standard A4 Avant, though Audi servicing does tend to be expensive – especially in towns and cities.
This will push up the Audi A4 Allroad running costs. Standard levels of kit are reasonable, although option prices can push the list price up significantly.
Audi A4 Allroad emissions aren’t grat but this is a greener option than many traditional 4x4s. The A4 Allroad was the first A4 model to get start-stop technology on certain engines. This system cuts the engine when the car is stationary (such as at traffic lights) and starts it up when the clutch is pressed and a gear is selected. The car’s on-board computer also displays ways in which to improve efficiency, such as turning down the air conditioning and heated seats.
This generation of the A4 is proving to be exceptionally reliable with no major problems reported. Expect Audi A4 Allroad reliability to be the same. Higher ground clearance and under-body protection means that trips off-road shouldn’t compromise this durability.
