Audi A4 Avant (2005 - 2008) 2.0 TDi Quattro (170ps) SE 5d Owner Review

Bought this car as a put me on till I found a new car and three years later showing 153000 miles I’m still in it !! This car just does everything I need, takes loads of stuff being an estate, loads of power with 170 Bhp on tap and coupled with the Quattro drive there is no stopping it. It’s quite liberating driving an older car as you never have to worry about where you leave it, car park dings... just adds character. That said it drives absolutely perfect and is an extremely comfortable place to be and I do look after the old girl. I can’t see me selling it to have a newer car till it dies and that could be a very long time. The only downside to Audi ownership is the electrical niggles which have shown up on every Audi I’ve owned and I’ve had 8, so it’s not unusual but it doesn’t stop me buying them. The Quattro is also quite heavy on tyres if you buy decent ones. Service costs are reasonable but I don’t use main dealer, cam belt/water pump service is the big one but it’s every 5 years so cost per mile is pittance. In summary it’s a fine car with performance and comfort, offers decent mpg and running costs which belies its age and mileage. A gem
