Economy
Value
It is a base model, but you do get electric most things. No rear electric windows.
Costs
Average, shared parts with VW. Go Euro Car Parts.

On the road
Driving
Light steering, but accurate enough, not a drivers car though. Steering too light. Knocking front suspension.
Performance
Lot of weight to lug around, suffers with passengers, ok as a motorway cruiser, don't race anyone, you'll just get shamed.

Living with it
Reliability
Engine is ok since it is VW, but over-designed front suspension is terrible (complex and many things needed replacing).
Image
Looks more expensive than it is, understated styling, difficult to distinguish between higher spec, bigger engine models.
Comfort
A good comfortable ride, good space upfront, cramped for rear passengers.

Security and Service
Security
Defeat the lock and the alarm won't go off. Face-lift model had better locks.
Service
Audi dealers notoriously snobbish if your car isn't new. Extortionate dealer labour charges. Minor service is too expensive, £20 parts £200 labour, what's that about (should be half that).

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Oil cooler leaked oil into coolant, changed it-9months down the line, started leaking again.
Other
The suspension design is terrible, too many bushes and arms, means lots of things to wear and it did go wrong. Whole new front suspension required after a while. Remember the brake fluid service, or your caliper breathers will seize-new calipers required.
