Audi A4 Saloon 2.5 TDi quattro 4d (1999/T) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Sensibly priced considering high cost when new.
Costs
Genuine 35mpg average over 8000 miles (Book says 41mpg). Don't go to main dealers, absolute rip off.

On the road
Driving
Feels very good for a family car, super fast on country roads. Performance, handling and economy all in one!
Performance
Big car, not super quick acceleration, you can easily go much faster then you realise. I only realised how good it was when I drove another car recently.

Living with it
Reliability
I've had a few trivial probs that due to main dealer ineptitude have escalated into big expensive probs. Audi specialist in Bristol has been excellent though, really put main dealer to shame.
Image
Looks superb, low suspension, smart alloys, smart interior.
Comfort
Has quite firm seats and firm suspension, you will feel the bumps in the road.

Security and Service
Security
Seems alright.
Service
Audi main dealers seem to lose interest in cars 4/5 years + and don't gain the experience that the cheaper, more backstreet specialists do. Main dealer service has been disgusting, no service ever with a smile, I hope it's just that one that's so bad.
