Economy
Value
Build quality is very bad, seems the Germans are loosing their touch. Owned from new, interior plastic is extremely weak, glove box broke off hinges just by opening and closing normally. Rear window winder snapped off with little force. Too much to list.
Costs
Ecconomical, get average 700 miles to a tank.

On the road
Driving
Engine has plenty of guts, but handling is vague at best, bucks and weaves in fast corners. Nice long distance tool.
Performance
Not bad, best diesel I've driven, if only the handling was a match.

Living with it
Reliability
Mechanically no problems, interior is very poor (easily breakable).
Image
Typical German car. Does what it has to but with no real style or character.
Comfort
Seats are quite hard but supportive. Not very comfortable in the rear.

Security and Service
Security
Was broken into by oportunists, looking for things to steal, put house brick through rear door window. Alarm didn't sound.
Service
Lots of problems in first 6 months, in and out of dealer, trip falling off, no signal to radio (eventually found not connected), misting up while driving and blower on full. Just very poor.
