Audi A4 Saloon (2015 - 2024) 2.0 TDI S Line 4d S Tronic Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I have had the A4 Saloon S Line Auto now for 6m, it replaced a MK7 Golf GTD DSG, and prior to that, I had the 2013 A4 S Line 150 manual. The new A4 is quieter than my previous A4 and has some nice interior details such as the lighting and dash design. However, the ride, handling and steering is a real disappointment compared to the previous A4. I had the S Line saloon with optional S Line suspension in 2013 and the ride and steering were fantastic. The 2017 A4 has hard seats and the S Line suspension is very firm despite the longer wheelbase in the new car. This is a surprise as the new car is longer and lighter and you would think this would make the ride better. Another key area the new A4 disappoints is the audio. In both the 2013, MY A4 and 2017 MY you get the upgraded Audi sound system as standard but in the new car, it is absolutely awful. Even the standard system in most cars sounds better and there is no bass. If you try to turn up the bass, the subwoofer just vibrates and it sounds cheap. In the 2013 A4, you could adjust the sub separately and the system sounded great. I have decided to swap into a 2016 BMW 320d Sport Auto after a few days driving it the BMW has a much better ride and is so much more comfortable than the new Audi. Yes, the Audi has nice LED headlamps, ambient lighting, good quality central display for sat nav etc but dynamically it is a real disappointment. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of buying this car to take it for an extended test drive as its not what I expected at all after all the positive reviews.
