Summary
What does this car say about you?
Best ask someone else......but I would think it oozes 'class' and success, and perhaps a man of taste and sophistication?
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all really like it and were surprised at the relatively low cost of an A5 at 3 years old. I'd say good value for money when you consider that £17.5K doesn't buy you a new Ford Focus these days.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, definitely, although perhaps with a larger engine as sometimes it feels sluggish at low revs. The quality of the interior is better than any other make I could name except the Rolls-Royces and Bentleys of this world.
What are you likely to buy next?
If another A5, I'd buy the S5...if I could afford the petrol running costs.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£17,500
When did you buy the car?
August 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Black Horse Car Sales in West Mids. Dealer has ex-lease cars by the hundred. Salesman was OK but not very interested as no doubt he sells several cars a day. Had a relatively good deal compared to franchised dealer which would add £3K to price. Car well prepared.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
What was the dealer like?
I had a major problem with the car 3 days outside the warranty period. Because it was such an unusual defect (exhaust gas radiator failed), the dealer paid the repair bill. Very happy at not paying £550 bill!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's like a pussy cat around town and very easy on the motorway. It's extremely comfortable and the very supportive seats will mean a relaxing drive which doesn't tire you out even after several hours of driving. The most annoying thing is the position of the demisting button in front of the gear stick which is hard to find when driving.
What's it like to park?
My car is fitted with reversing sensors and once you get used to the length of the car (compared to most hatchbacks) and light steering it is extremely easy to park. Good visibility from mirror and out the rear window.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
See above problem with the EGR which spilled out clouds of 'smoke' (actually steam) from the exhaust. Annoyingly different clutch from previous car meant it took a while to get used to high clutch point and when cold it (or should that be 'I') was prone to stalling. Gearbox, particularly 1st to 2nd when cold, is 'notchy'.
What's most practical about your car?
Wonderfully large boot on A5 Coupe although I'm used to hatchbacks and their practicality.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The stereo is fantastic although for Audi is the bottom of the range. The B&O system must be absolutely brilliant.
