Other Audi A5 (2007 - 2017) models:

  • Summary

    2 out of 5 2.0

What does this car say about you?

The car looks very nice, and as I own my own company makes it look very good, as we all drive either A4s or A5s.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

The like the look of the car as it a very luxurious looking model. They also like the interior as it is out of this world. However, legroom in the back is not adequate for carrying four adults around and the lack of a middle seat is not very practical when you have a husband and three children.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. Due to the problems I have had and have found with the car I would not want to have another model like it.

What are you likely to buy next?

I am likely to go back to BMW when the contracts on all of my companies cars expire.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £36,000

When did you buy the car?

    March 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Not particularly, I think I got what I paid for.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I could not decide between this car and the new A4, but the A5 was recommended.

    What was the dealer like?

    Very friendly and helpful.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

Average, not the best ride, not as smooth as my previous BMW.

    What's it like to park?

Again I would have to say average. The lack of parking sensors makes it difficult, and trying to see out of the very small windows in the back of the car is not very easy.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes, the first week of having the car it would not start up and I had to have it repaired taking over two weeks. A few weeks later the car decided that it on a way to a very important meeting in Cardiff, it would not exceed 30mph. This was due to an electronic fault and took a further two weeks to be repaired. Finally a month ago the car would not unlock so I could not get into it and I had to call an Audi technician out to repair it. It was then taken into the garage yet again for a further week. This has been the most unreliable car fault wise I have ever had and cant bear to think of what will go wrong next.

What's most practical about your car?

It is very economical, which is good for me as I do a lot of miles throughout the year.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The satellite navigation system is fantastic. I cannot fault Audi on that.
