Summary
What does this car say about you?
Determined self appreciation.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They think it looks and sounds hot. My son thinks it is fantastic.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Haven't bought it yet, but the fact that I am typing this suggests YES YES YES.
What are you likely to buy next?
S5 for me. Wifes car isn't due for change yet (Honda CRV). If Honda launch they type R CRV, then that will be her next one. If they don't, I think she is after a Nissan Pathfinder.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£44,000
When did you buy the car?
August 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
This car is a demonstrator and has 1,800 miles on the clock. I can buy this exact car in November (3 months old) at which point I can expect to save about £3,000 off list price and get the best part of £5,000 of extras free of charge. Sounds like a cracking deal to me at £36,000.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
OK, I haven't bought it yet....I have it on test. I must admit that this Phantom Beauty really holds up to my automotive dreams and desires.
What was the dealer like?
Really helpful, then again they want me to buy the car don't they.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Sure footed, rapid and smooth. I love this car. The power in this thing allows you the confidence to make mincemeat of overtaking. The brakes do the job but I must admit they didn't fill me with confidence rounding a bend this morning to find a broken down Combine Harvester! Smooth at any speed and the power kicks at 3,000rpm and again a 4,000rpm. In town, you want to be seen. Slow speeds are so easy and it goes where ever you point it.
What's it like to park?
Easier than an A4 / TT / A6 or Q7. Never tried to park an A8 and haven't bothered with an A3.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Not yet and don't expect it to either, it's an Audi afterall.
What's most practical about your car?
Not the back seats, but then again I don't want to use it as a Taxi. Boot is surprisingly good and if you keep your right foot light, then it isn't too thirsty either.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Sat-Nav is good as is parking sensor, but the ulitmate for me is the sound from the 4.2 V8. 350 BHP? Surely it has to be more than that! It has a suggested gear selector, which annoys me. You find yourself looking at it rather than the road, looking for approval on your selected gear. There are only 6 to choose from, it isn't difficult.
