Should you buy one?  

If you’re after the biggest load lugger out there, no. While the Avant is more spacious than the A6 Sportback, we’d have hoped for a bigger boot and perhaps a little more rear seat space. It’s a similar story with the BMW i5, but the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer is the most practical electric estate you can buy right now. 

There is still plenty to recommend the A6 Avant, though. It has an impressive range, is good to drive and is comfortable, at least on the air suspension system. Here’s hoping the cars we’ll get with normal suspension will be compatible with the UK’s patchwork roads.
