Value
Got from Auction for £4600, clock said 90k miles. Checked after it had done 180k, but drove like new. Had it a year n done another 30k, but still doesn't use a drop of oil, so even though conned, it was a good buy. Should go on indefinitely at this rate.
Costs
Avoid main dealer - twice to 3 times more than respectable garages.

On the road
Driving
Great cruiser. Ok in 2nd to 5th gear, but lacks poke in 1st.
Performance
It's a Diesel. Not much power, but you can Luxury and comfort of an executive car with economy and cruises great at 90mph.

Living with it
Reliability
Excellent. Only put oil in it every 8k miles, so far done 30k in it - it's now at about 190k and drives like new. Service it myself.
Image
Still looks modern and hasn't dated until they bring out a new A6. Got a '97 car which in effect is the same as the new $30k cars for just over £4k.
Comfort
Sturdy, solid, excellent seat comfort. Very supportive and ergonomically designed. Stable drive.

Security and Service
Service
Service it myself. Too costly at main dealers, although if buying a newer one it is advisable for re-sale reasons. I'm driving mine 'til it's 10 years old, so not so important.
