Economy
Value
Let somebody with a company cheque book suffer the initial depreciation, these cars make a shrewd buy, second hand.
Costs
Franchised dealership's employees should be wearing masks like other robbers, find a local specialist for 50% savings. However, the palpetations and outbursts of foul language can be balanced out as you sail past petrol stations time and time again.

On the road
Driving
Decidedly average to drive, suspension dislikes uneven road surfaces and will try to dislodge your fillings. Braking hard can result in an inopportune religous moment as you hastily pray that you will stop in time.
Performance
The engine is a bit asthmatic up through the gears, unless you are prepared to suffer industrial deafness and work the engine hard, good on motorways though, 50mpg.

Living with it
Reliability
Never failed so far…
Image
Although seemingly overshadowed by BMW and Merc, A6 has clearly been lovingly designed, looks elegant and understated from all angles, partcularly the curvaceous back end.
Comfort
Acres of interior space, even with front seats all the way back. Firm seating for all, huge boot, quality trim and uncluttered simplistic controls. Split area air con with vents for rear passengers. Lots of nice touches, kerb lights in doors etc.

Security and Service
Security
Thankfully, untested. Comprehensive standard fit alarm system, doors self lock after a set period if you forget… it's like magic.
Service
Managed to miss a failing turbo, despite it being pointed out. Two falls and a submission should you need a courtesy car. Service varies from franchise to franchise… some good, some not so good… worth comparison shopping.
