Summary
What does this car say about you?
Suits my build and height perfectly so I can only say it is the right car for me in most respects.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Impressed that a large car can be so nimble as well as looking sleek and purposeful.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Undoubtedly. I don't cover major miles in the year so the saving at purchase over the diesel has covered the 33mpg average I get out of it.
What are you likely to buy next?
A6 or an A5 but still in love with this one.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,000
When did you buy the car?
March 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
I was looking for a 57/58 plate Mondeo but spotted this at a comparable price with low miles. Superb deal for cash as the dealer wanted a quick sale.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Generous cabin room and wanting the refinement of a petrol engine.
What was the dealer like?
Refreshingly straightforward.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Smooth as silk V6 engine which seems happy if you push it or drive it in a relaxed manner. MPG suffers if you consistently stretch it over 3,000 rpm but I rarely found I needed to. The ride is slightly firmer than I would like but dropping the tyre pressures helped - German roads must have few potholes! Love driving this car and passengers find it to be effortless and extremely comfortable.
What's it like to park?
I got my local garage to fit a rear sensor kit at a cost of £130 and now happy. Took a few weeks to get used to the width as much as anything but no real difficulties.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Pencil coil replaced at cost of £47 plus labour. Otherwise problem free apart from routine servicing and tyres.
What's most practical about your car?
Everything is logically and ergonomically thought out which takes away any potential annoying features. The boot with split seats was a real bonus when moving our son to uni.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The sat nav is very fast and accurate - a really sophisticated but user friendly format.
