Summary
What does this car say about you?
I drive a car.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Family like it, although my daughters moan about the cold leather seats in the winter. (My wife and I have heated front seats:) Friends like it. Neighbour thinks I need to clean it more often.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would probably go for the next generation 3.0-litre engine next time.
What are you likely to buy next?
If my children have moved away and I don't need the extra space I may be tempted by the A5.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great. Designed for crunching miles on the motorway, a bit more taxing on Devon's narrow lanes but good all round visibility eases this problem. Great automatic gearbox, very rarely feel the need to use the steering wheel paddles. Quattro makes handling a delight, especially over the last couple of quite severe (for Devon) winters.
What's it like to park?
Rear parking sensors definitely a helpful accessory. Again, good all round visibilty a great asset.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nearly 3 years on, it still feels good every time I get in. Love the look and spec of the car and for such a large car am quite pleased with the MPG (currently around 39 mpg for general use). There are a couple of problems, I had a main headlight fail indicator. Had to remove parts from the engine bay to replace the bulb only to find it was the control box (had to remove the front end of the car to replace) Audi quoted £700 to replace it, tried to do it on the cheap, now have headlamp but no adaptive light control. Also fuel gauge only works intermittently. Positives far outway these little niggles. Love the car.
What's most practical about your car?
Drive my daughter to university in Scotland (from Devon). We can fit all her stuff in the car and still arrive feeling like I've been sat on my favourite comfy chair for 8 hours. A relaxing and enjoyable ride.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise control, although my third A6 this is the firt with this feature - should be standard fit.
