Audi A7 Sportback (2010 - 2018) 3.0 TDI Quattro (272bhp) Black Edition 5d S Tronic Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
The Audi A7 Black Edition in Daytona Grey looks the absolute business - if you like the huge wheels and tinted windows look that is. The interior is faultless and exudes quality. Buttons click and switches work with the kind of accuracy and genuine feel of quality that several manufacturers would kill for. The dials are clear and the graphics are excellent (Mercedes take note).
It's not all roses though. Whilst it is a very good system, the Bose speaker arrangement is a huge let down. The mildly upgraded audio set up in my last X5 was immeasurably superior and had a real depth of sound this simply cannot match. Had I been fortunate enough to purchase an A7 new but in a different spec and forked out for this upgrade I would be extremely disappointed. Also, the main screen pops up and hides away each time you start/stop the car. It's all right for a bit of theatre but an option to leave it up all the time would be nice.
The car has been hugely reliable in the 3 years I've had it so far with no issues at all. It gets serviced at Audi in line with the on board schedule and qualifies for the fixed price servicing so prices are not ridiculous. Tyres have been a massive issue though and cannot recommend enough any potential buyers either change (or never purchase) the Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres available as a known issue is the side wall splitting with no warning. This has caused a recent MOT failure on a tyre only a few months old so I now run Pirelli P Zeros with no problems.
In summary, if you want a big, fast, comfy, well equipped, smart looking and reasonably economical car then you could do a lot worse than an Audi A7.
