Pros & cons
PROS
Solidly built, limousine like comfort, refined
CONS
Dull design, no diesel engine
Audi A8 (94-02) rivals
Overview
The A8 was launched at a time when Audi was struggling to match the upmarket image of its now big rivals Mercedes and BMW. It may look dull with none of the opulence of an S-Class but it’s discreet looks hide a superbly built car that is wonderfully comfortable and luxurious. If you want to draw attention to yourself then the A8 is not the car to do it in but as an impressive, well built and refined saloon the A8 excels.
It also gains extra marks for being superb value for money as a used buy although with no diesel engine in the line-up you can expect high running costs.
