Audi Cabriolet 2.0 E 2d (1996/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Looks like a million dollars - different league to comparables.
Costs
Can develop suspension issues, generally excellent and reliable.
-
On the road
Driving
Good for cruising, not that good for city use.
Performance
2.0E is a little sluggish pulling away, good midrange and no good for racing.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Very good, solid, Audi quality.
Image
Best of the convertible crowd. Unfortunately though has been brought down by the 'drug dealer' car' image a bit in cities, but so have they all.
Comfort
Not too bad. Seats could be a lot more comfortable, though.

Security and Service
Security
Standard stuff; immobiliser and alarm.
Service
Expensive with Audi. Bodywork incredibly expensive and parts expensive. Don't buy this car unless you have enough money to keep it looking nice!

Suspension arms at front will need replacing at about 50k miles. These can be expensive. Back window is plastic and on older cars can get steamy or cracked (never open in cold!) can be replaced though, about £450.
