Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback verdict
Should you buy one?
If it were our money, it wouldn’t be going on an Audi Q8 E-Tron Sportback. We have no problem with it being a coupe rather than a straightforward electric SUV – it’s still spacious inside and has a usefully large boot.
It also has some neat design touches, such as the charging cable storage under the bonnet and the charging ports fitted on both sides. The powered port doors also make you feel pretty special.
The problem is that the Q8 E-Tron, Sportback or not, just doesn’t excite us in the way a premium electric SUV can and should – take the BMW iX for example. What’s more, it has some deeply flawed elements that frankly should have never made production. The Virtual Mirrors really are very poor.
What we like
Practical design touches improve the ownership experience, reasonably comfortable, plenty of space.
What we don’t like
The Virtual Mirrors are awful, the touchscreens require far too much pressure, and the driving experience just doesn’t feel special enough.
