Audi R8 Spyder (2010-2014) boot space, practicality and safety
The R8 hasn’t been crash-tested by EuroNCAP but there are plenty of safety devices and crash protection on board so Audi R8 Spyder safety should be taken care of.
It also has ABS, all-wheel drive and electronic stability control with sport mode. There’s also the option to fully-deactivate it, for those drivers who enjoy taking advantage of the car’s dynamic abilities.
The R8 also has full driver and passenger airbags, head-thorax side bags, side protectors, automatic pop-up roll-over protection, seat belt pre-tensioners, and head restraint support to reduce whiplash injuries.
Let’s face it, this is not a car to be bought for trips to DIY stores or gardening centres – no matter how usable it is for day to day life – so R8 Spyder practicality isn’t anything to write home about.
There’s a boot under the bonnet that will swallow a couple of overnight bags, or a weekly shop for a couple. Small lockable storage areas between the seats and small storage door bins complete the car’s oddiment carrying capacity.
Perfect for planning a romantic weekend break, but not so hot for a week-long touring holiday.
