Audi TT Coupe 1.8 T quattro (225ps) 2d (1999/V) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Plenty of them about and the release of the 3.2 TT means they can now be picked up at a very reasonable price.
Costs
Flooded market means that the depreciation really hurts - labour currently an extortionate £100 an hour, and parts have an equally difficult to swallow mark-up.
-
On the road
Driving
Can be great fun to drive but the novelty has now worn off - annoying delay before the turbo kicks in.
Performance
More than adequate.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Broke down 3 times within 9 months!
Image
Still th sexiest car on the road for under £40k
Comfort
The cabin is very comfortable but don't try and get more than two people into one. Sports suspension means you feel every bump.

Security and Service
Security
No one has attempted to nick it so far.
Service
Sales staff are useless and swarmy (especially at the dealerships owned by the HR Owen Group). General lack of courtesy cars, long wait for servicing and general repairs. General service ended up costing me £1,300 (this did include a cambelt change)
