Summary
What does this car say about you?
It probably says that my life is stable, the kids are all grown up and have cars of their own and I can get back to enjoying being behind the wheel and I do enjoy driving this car. The stereo is very rarely on as I enjoy the feel and sound of the car too much.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Friends love it, the line "is that your TT ?" and their envious looks speak volumes.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, I always wanted to try a TT and having tested one I had to have one. It's everything I expected and more, I feel comfortable in it and I have plenty of room (I'm 6ft). I've driven a 60 mile round trip around back roads just to go to the shop which is 4 miles away. I was doing 2500-3000 miles a year in my last car, I've got to calm down as I've now done 5000 in less than 5 months ! We will also look to the TTs next time.
What are you likely to buy next?
Audi A5 if I can get my wife to agree to a bigger car, but most likely another TT or TTs, perhaps as a roadster version.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£30,000
When did you buy the car?
May 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
I feel I got a good deal, with the dealers discount and I got rear parking sensors fitted for nothing.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Moving from 2 cars to one and looking for a piece of solid German engineering. Wife wanted a smaller car, didn't want S-Tronic and I wanted Quattro so this was the model of choice.
What was the dealer like?
Very friendly, very accomodating when I wanted to try cars of differing suspension.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I love it as does the misses. In the wet it excels, especially from a standing start. I like everything about it and still get a big smile on my face when pulling away in 1st into a tight gap and realising what it feels like to get all that power through the quattro drive. It sits smoothly on the road and although it has a firm ride on a bumpy road it does not give a spine shattering ride. I have been surprised what gears it will still pull along in, it seemed alien driving up a slight incline in 6th doing 40mph but it manages very comfortably.
What's it like to park?
I've had some poor cars to park (Megane 09 as the last) so this comes as a lot easier. With the large rear window you can see where the back of the car is. The only downside is reversing if it's raining as the rear screen can quickly become difficult to see through. This can be helped on our fit with the parking sensors and use of the mirrors but does need to be taken slower.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Having not had the parking sensors factory fitted the sound generator has come loose and is now very quiet (will be repaired under warranty).
What's most practical about your car?
It's a TT !! Not the most practical car but with my wife at 5ft we can comfortable get 3 people in a car that we were buying as a two seater for ourselves. The boot is surprisingly spacious and the rear seats fold down and back up easier than any other car I've had.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I like the auto climate control which was used a lot through this summer, worked a treat when others were suffering in their cars and didn't seem to reduce fuel consumption much compared to my previous cars.
