Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£27,000
When did you buy the car?
June 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Sourced the car through an internet vendor that does the hard work and get's the best deal nationally. I did my own research, and couldn't beat the deal for my desired spec.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Gave in to temptation
What was the dealer like?
The car was sourced from a franchise dealer with whom I had no direct contact. I'm sure they are fine though, since they sent me some gift vouchers as a thank you ... how nice. Saying that though, it was great to not have to deal with pushy sales people who know nothing about the cars they are selling, which always detracts from the car buying process.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Really nimble, the steering has just enough feel - Audi have really sorted it out and I find the BMW unnecessarily heavy now. The 2.0 TFSI engine has plenty of grunt for a car of this size, and coupled with the 6-speed gearbox it doesn't suffer from turbo-lag at all, which is a pleasant surprise. I would have gone for the DSG, but this one makes a lot more sense and offers far greater control, and the short-shift feature is a nice touch.
What's it like to park?
Easy. You don't buy a car like this if you can't drive, or don't at least enjoy it.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing yet, as I would expect from a brand that aspires to be a high-end, prestige car manufacturer.
What's most practical about your car?
Not a great deal, it's a TT.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Definitely, the Magnetic Ride Control. It's awesome and one reason I chose the TT over the A5. A must-have option for the driving enthusiast.
