  • Summary

What does this car say about you?

That I like an exciting drive, but I'm not a boy-racer.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My friends say it's a mid-life crisis (not true; what do they know?) My wife says I drive it too fast (not true; she never overtakes in her Golf) and my neighbours like it, but need to keep their children away from the paintwork (use the park for football, kids).

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would, but I'd probably go for a convertible next time, to experience a bit of roof-off in the summer (If we ever have a summer again). If I was minted, I'd go for an R8, but that's another story...

What are you likely to buy next?

If I strike it lucky it will be an R8, but is more likely to be something practical like a Q5 or a Land Rover Discovery.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Saved up for 4 years to get a sports car.

    What's it like to drive?

A beauty. It can drive easily like a family saloon in town or traffic. On country roads it has wonderful grip, the steering is light and responsive and the brakes are hugely powerful; making it feel like a very safe drive. I have the 2.0 petrol engine which accelerates beautifully in all gears. You need to have the car in a straight line before you plant your right foot or the front end can be a little skittish and waggle around. this means you need to overtake with a bit more care. On the motorways it hardly makes a sound, and you can accelerate even in 6th gear.

    What's it like to park?

Easy. Its quite small in length. its a reasonably wide car, so multi-storey car parks can be tricky with their narrow bays. The view out the windows and screens is pretty good for a sports car.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

I had some condensation problems in the winter, but we did not find the root cause. Outside of that it has been excellent.

What's most practical about your car?

It's a great car for two people. You have loads of room in the front, and the boot is big enough for a large suitcase or two smaller cases.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The leather seats. Paid extra but really comfy and hold you in the car at higher speeds.
