Economy
Value
Everything you could need is fitted as standard including heated leather seats (a Godsend), power roof, quality stereo etc. Looked at a BMW Z3 and the options list is a mile long.
Costs
Used values are really strong. I paid a higher cost buying a used example from an Audi dealer. 18 months later, I'm trading in for another used TTR and I'm getting back just £1000 less I paid.

On the road
Driving
Comfortable on the motorway, but excellant fun on fast A and B-roads.
Performance
Very quick in 180bhp form. Had the engine re-mapped ( chipped ) by AMD in Bicester. Power increased to 215bhp - massive difference in acceleration. Now even more fun!

Living with it
Reliability
One minor electrical fault sorted under warranty without any fuss.
Image
Everyone looks at a TT. Not as girly as a Z3 or SLK and £10k cheaper new than a Porsche Boxter with a comparable image. Porsche owners would disagree I'm sure.
Comfort
Ride is firm but isn't that why you buy a sportscar anyway?

Security and Service
Security
Standard security is fine. I've had a Tracker fitted to help me sleep at night.
Service
Whitehouse Audi in Kent have been great.
